Quick answer

Which VV Ultimatum modifier is best?

There is no universal best modifier. Deadly directly improves weapon damage, Precise supports Kido damage, Menacing supports Hakuda, and Celestial spreads a smaller 2% bonus across five defensive and resource stats. A focused roll is usually stronger when one stat clearly limits the build.

  • The public Trello lists 13 equipment modifiers.
  • Equipment may drop already modified, and modifier stones can force a modifier onto eligible gear.
  • A Tailor reroll costs 400-500 Soul Tokens, so reroll only equipment you expect to keep.
Core system

How VV Ultimatum modifiers work

A modifier is an additional stat line. It does not replace the item's normal bonuses, so a perfect modifier cannot rescue equipment with poor base stats or a slot you will replace soon. The same roll can be excellent on one build and wasteful on another.

The current Trello says equipment can appear already modified, receive a modifier through a modifier stone, or be rerolled by a Tailor for 400-500 Soul Tokens. That cost makes every attempt a resource decision rather than a reason to reroll every temporary drop.

1

Judge the base item

Check its slot, normal stats and expected lifespan before investing.

2

Add or reroll the effect

Use a stone or Tailor only when the equipment deserves the cost.

3

Compare the whole loadout

Balance damage, survival, resources, movement and equipment load together.

The values below follow the current public Trello card. Modifier names stay in English because those are the in-game labels players need to recognize.

Celestial is broad rather than dominant: it grants 2% to every listed stat. It is flexible, but one focused modifier can provide a much larger increase to the stat that matters most.

Reroll economy

Modifier stones, Tailors and Soul Token cost

A modifier stone lets you apply the system to a strong piece instead of waiting for the exact item to drop already modified. The Trello screenshot shows the chance list, including Celestial at 2% and several modifiers at 11%.

Those percentages are not a universal tier list. Before spending a stone or 400-500 Soul Tokens at a Tailor, decide which two or three outcomes would genuinely improve the item and stop when the remaining budget no longer justifies another attempt.

  • Invest in long-term equipment, not the first usable drop.
  • Keep Soul Tokens available for other progression costs.
  • Accept a strong second-choice roll on excellent equipment.

Build decisions

Best VV Ultimatum modifiers by build

Choose the stat that turns your game plan into wins. Offensive builds normally prefer direct damage; defensive and progression setups should solve the failure point that ends runs most often.

Weapon build

Deadly — 5% Weapon Damage

The direct offensive choice. Steadfast or Sturdy can be better when posture breaks or melee pressure removes your attack uptime.

Kido build

Precise — 5% Kido Damage

Precise increases your damage. Voluminous expands Reiatsu, while Ghostly defends against incoming Kido rather than boosting your spells.

Hakuda build

Menacing — 3% Hakuda Damage

Menacing is direct Hakuda scaling. Swift, Tireless or Quick may help more when movement, stamina or posture recovery limits close-range pressure.

Tank or beginner

Vibrant, Sturdy or Steadfast

Choose health, melee defense or posture according to the failure that ends your runs.

Heavy equipment

Spacious — 11% Equipment Load

Spacious can unlock a stronger combination of equipment. It has little value when load is already comfortable.

Balanced build

Celestial — 2% across five stats

Celestial offers broad coverage, but it should not automatically replace a larger focused bonus.

Spend smarter

A practical modifier priority order

Start with the equipment, then the build, then the budget. Chasing a rare-looking name before those checks can burn Soul Tokens without fixing the character.

Use this order when comparing a fresh drop, a modifier stone target or a Tailor reroll.

  1. Confirm the item is worth keepingCheck the slot, base stats and whether a near-term upgrade will replace it.
  2. Name the build's win conditionPick weapon, Kido, Hakuda, movement, defense or equipment load as the first target.
  3. Identify the real failure pointA damage roll is wasted when posture, health or mobility prevents you from dealing damage.
  4. Set a reroll budgetChoose the maximum Soul Tokens before starting; do not let sunk cost choose the next roll.
  5. Accept a useful resultA strong second choice on excellent equipment can beat endless attempts at a perfect roll.
Avoid waste

Common modifier mistakes

Treating Celestial as automatic best-in-slot

Its five bonuses are flexible but only 2% each. Focused builds often gain more from a direct offensive, defensive or utility roll.

Rerolling temporary equipment

The 400-500 Soul Token cost is easier to justify on a long-term piece than on gear the next quest may replace.

Confusing offense and defense

Precise increases Kido damage; Ghostly increases Kido defense. Deadly boosts weapon damage; Sturdy helps against melee pressure.

Ignoring equipment load

Spacious may enable a better complete setup even though it does not directly add damage.
